The two-alarm fire broke out Wednesday, April 12 at the vacated campus’ former Academic Building on Pemberton Browns Mills Road, according to Pemberton Township police.

At about 6:20 a.m., firefighters found a blaze in a classroom and the lobby of the first floor of the former college building, police said. Smoke spread throughout the building.

The fire was under control about 30 minutes after the firefighters arrived. The college, which has been closed for more than six years, was vacant at the time of the fire.

No one was hurt, police said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Pemberton Township police and the Burlington County Fire Marshal’s Office.
